Effect of solvent and hydrogen during selective hydrogenation
Tetrahedron Letters, 2001Abstract Described is the solvent effect for the chemoselective hydrogenation of alkenes having a benzyloxy group (Bn-O-) using a hydrogenation system employing atomic hydrogen permeating through a Pd sheet electrode.

Selection of the hydrogen-sorbing material for hydrogen accumulators
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2016Abstract The hydrogen accumulation in metal hydrides is the urgent problem of hydrogen power engineering and the demand for metal hydrides as capacitive, safe and convenient in service sources of hydrogen has stimulated the study of hydrogen capacity of multicomponent alloys.

Selective Hydrogenation of Dicyclopentadiene
Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2020The previously developed procedures for preparing dihydrodicyclopentadiene (DHDCPD) and tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene (THDCPD) are considered comprehensively. The performance of traditional dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) hydrogenation catalysts (Raney Ni, Pd/C) is compared to that of catalysts based on Ni or Pd nanoparticles on a polymer matrix.

Selective hydrogenation of nitroaromatics by ceria nanorods
Nanoscale, 2013Ceria (CeO2) nanorods with well-defined surface planes can be synthesized and utilized for the hydrogenation of nitroaromatics. The CeO2 nanorods containing a {110} plane can efficiently and selectively catalyse the hydrogenation of nitroaromatics with N2H4 as a reducing agent, while nano-ceria with a {100} or {111} plane shows poor performance for the

Selective Hydrogenation by Carbocatalyst: The Role of Radicals
Organic Letters, 2019The selective hydrogenation of the nitro moiety is a difficult task in the presence of other reducible functional groups such as alkenes or alkynes. We show that the carbon-based (metal-free) catalyst can be used to selectively reduce substituted nitro groups using H2 as a reducing agent, providing a great potential to replace noble-metal catalysts and

Selective Hydrogenation Reactions
2013Gold catalysts demonstrated high selectivity in hydrogenation of the multifunctional molecules. Selective hydrogenation of succinic anhydride (SAN) over gold catalysts was studied. Gold catalysts demonstrated higher activity and selectivity compared to other studied metals.

The hydrogen-ion selective glass electrode
Talanta, 1975The properties and mechanism of operation of hydrogen-ion selective glass electrodes are reviewed and a model using information from recent research is presented. In the gel layer of a pH-glass protons or hydronium ions are bound to negative charges in a silicon network cross-linked with bi- or tervalent metal ions.

Selectivities in Partial Hydrogenation
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 2009They also mention AOCS Official Method Tz 1b-79 to calculate the above selectivities. However, when these selectivity ratios were defined more than 40 years ago, simplifications had to be introduced and assumptions had to be made and it is my impression that nowadays, people are insufficiently aware of these simplifications and assumptions and moreover

Hydrogen-selective thermoelectric gas sensor
Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2003Abstract A thermoelectric (TE) hydrogen gas sensor was fabricated by depositing a platinum catalyst thin film on the half surface of nickel oxide thick film. When it was exposed to combustible gas diluted by synthetic air, the catalyst layer converts hydrogen and oxygen effectively to water vapor, and give out heat energy, resulting temperature ...

Selective Oxidation of Hydrogen to Hydrogen Peroxide
1992Abstract The synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) using H 2 ‐O 2 was studied at temperatures from -10°C to 25°C and pressures from 0.50 MPa to 2.3 MPa. Active catalysts included platinum group metals attached to hydrophobic carbon, supported on a mixture of hydrophobic and hydrophilic materials.
