High density selective laser melting of Waspaloy®

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2008
In this work, high density Waspaloy® specimens were produced using specially assembled laboratory equipment by Selective Laser Melting (SLM). SLM of Waspaloy® powder was performed using a high power pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The laser parameters pulse energy (J), pulse width (ms), repetition rate (Hz) and scan speed (mm/min) were varied.

Selective Laser Melting of Pure Copper

JOM, 2017
Appropriate building parameters for selective laser melting of 99.9% pure copper powder were investigated at relatively high laser power of 800 W for hatch pitch in the range from 0.025 mm to 0.12 mm. The highest relative density of the built material was 99.6%, obtained at hatch pitch of 0.10 mm.

Selective laser melting of nickel powder

Rapid Prototyping Journal, 2017
Purpose Selective laser melting (SLM) is an additive manufacturing technology that is gaining industrial and research interest as it can directly fabricate near full density metallic components. The paper aims to identify suitable process parameters for SLM of processing of pure nickel powder and to study the microstructure of such products. The study

Selective Laser Melting in Dentistry

2010
Although casting is currently the first choice to produce metallic frame work selective laser melting (SLM) has established. Based on a CAD/CAM system the digital data of the frame work are transferred to the production machine. The three dimensional data set of the transferred in to numerous quasi 2-dimensional data. Each of these data sets represents

Process optimization in selective laser melting

2004
The work presented here summarises part of the work I have done for the past six years. After a few interesting months of research on laser cutting of thick steel plates, I was lucky to land up in the emerging domain of Rapid Prototyping (RP): producing complex products layer by layer, directly from 3D CAD information.

Modelling selective laser melting machine configurations

2020
Many features in producing parts with selective laser melting (SLM) can still be somewhat unreliable and settings working in one machine might yield unacceptable result in another. Considering this, knowhow of the process parameters that ultimately affect the properties of the produced part is needed.
