yNet: a multi-input convolutional network for ultra-fast simulation of field evolvement [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The capability of multi-input field-to-field regression, i.e. mapping the initial field and applied conditions to the evolved field, is appealing, enabling ultra-fast physics-free simulation of various field evolvements across many disciplines. We hereby propose a y-shaped multi-input deep convolutional network, yNet, which can effectively account for ...

Direct Laser Sintering of Metals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The use of a directed laser bealn source to selectively sinter multiple layers of binderless metal powder for the purposes of rapid prototyping is described. The work in this paper is restricted to -325 mesh iron powder, which was sintered using a C\V

Selective Laser Sintering of Stainless Steel 314S HC Processed Using Room Temperature Powder Beds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Metal powder bed pre-heating is a proposed route for the homogenisation of temperature gradients that can otherwise cause individual layer warping and cracking in direct metal Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).

Appearance of ferromagnetism property for Si nano-polycrystalline body and vanishing of electrical resistances at local high frequencies [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Reduction in the skin effect for the sintered Si nanopolycrystalline body as an electricity conductor at a high frequency due to its nano-structure was studied. Singular vanishing of electrical resistances near a local high magnetic harmonic frequency of a few MHz was observed. This phenomenon has not been observed for conventional ferromagnetic metals.

Powder Deposition and Sintering for a Two-Powder Approach to Solid Freeform Fabrication [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A two-powder approach is presented where Fused Deposition modeling (FDM) is used to create a thin shell in the shape of the part to be fabricated. The shell is filled with powder of the part material and surrounded by a support powder that has a high ...
