Selective laser sintering (SLS)-printable thermosetting resins via controlled conversion

MRS Communications, 2021
An alternative strategy toward SLS-printable thermosets is demonstrated based on partial curing of the material to increase the Tg of the resin and minimize the additional cure needed to cross-link the printed article. This material is then printed, yet it does not become cross-linked during the printing process.

Homogeneity aspects in selective laser sintering (SLS)

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2006
Abstract A measure of powder layer heterogeneity has been proposed. It has been tested on the layers realized by different deposition techniques. Good correspondence of the actual measure to the subjective layer quality estimation has been shown. The influence of the laser scanning strategy on the quality of sintered structure has been examined.

Research on measurement method of selective laser sintering (SLS) transient temperature

Optik, 2008
During selective laser sintering (SLS), transient temperature has direct effect on prototyping mechanism and quality. The infrared thermograph non-contact testing method is proposed in this paper. The testing results are compared with numerical simulation results.

Fatigue Reliability of Selective Laser Sintered (SLS) Components Using Weibull Analysis

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
Selective laser sintered metallic specimens were tested for fatigue cycles to failure and analyzed for reliability. In this study, Taguchi’s experimental techniques were used to develop a modified L9 orthogonal array. Three different process parameters, laser power, scan spacing and slice thickness were selected for manufacturing the components ...

Sintering quality and parameters optimization of sisal fiber/PES composite fabricated by selective laser sintering (SLS)

Journal of Thermoplastic Composite Materials, 2020
This article aims to improve the sintering quality of the sisal fiber/poly-(ether sulfone) (PES) composite (SFPC) part fabricated via selective laser sintering (SLS). The sisal fiber and PES powders were proposed as the feedstock of the SFPC powder bed for SLS.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

2004
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) uses a laser beam directed by a computer onto the surface of metallic or non-metallic powders to produce copies of solid or surface models rapidly. It is one of the few RP processes capable of producing durable and functional parts from a wide range of prototype materials that have physical properties similar to ...

Parameter Optimization for Biocompatible Polyamide Used in Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

2020
One of the major issues in additive manufacturing concerns the geometrical and mechanical properties of its products. Selective laser sintering uses a laser beam that binds together the biocompatible polyamide powder, having as results rigid parts that can be used for mechanical constructions. The biocompatibility of the material makes the construction
