Establishing Maintenance Resource Levels Using Selective Maintenance

The Engineering Economist, 2006
We address the performance of a repairable system that is required to perform a sequence of equally spaced, identical missions with breaks between missions. The system is series-parallel in structure, and component repair can only be performed during breaks between missions.

Group maintenance strategy for stochastic selective maintenance

International Journal of Wireless and Mobile Computing, 2018
Selective maintenance is often applied to many industrial environments when the maintenance actions are performed between sequence missions. When the length of maintenance or work mission time is stochastic and there are multiple maintenance workers with different capacity, previous works to determine maintenance and mission times are unsuitable for it.

Selective Maintenance under Uncertainty

PHM Society Asia-Pacific Conference, 2017
In this paper, a new multi-objective robust selective maintenance model is formulated by considering the uncertainties produced by imperfect inspections. The resulting optimization problem aims at maximizing the expectation of the probability of a repaired system completing a mission and simultaneously minimizing its variance.

A high‐performance maintenance strategy for stochastic selective maintenance

Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 2018
SummarySelective maintenance is often applied in many industrial environments where maintenance is performed between sequence missions. When the mission time is stochastic and there are multiple maintenance workers with different capacities, the system reliability of the next work mission can be maximized by using a stochastic model under the ...

Maintenance strategy selection and its impact in maintenance function

International Journal of Operations & Production Management, 2015
Purpose– This paper aims to synthesize and categorize the published literatures related to maintenance strategies formulation, selection and implementation in various industries. The purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual framework based on literature review for formulation of maintenance strategies, selection and the implementation of ...

Fleet performance under selective maintenance

Annual Symposium Reliability and Maintainability, 2004 - RAMS, 2004
Many organizations rely on the effective use of fleets of repairable equipment that must perform sets of sequential missions. Such fleets include production equipment used in manufacturing systems, material handling equipment used in warehousing, and transportation vehicles used in distribution.

Selective Maintenance for Systems under Imperfect Maintenance Policy

2014
Due to the advent of complex engineering systems in the last few decades, reliability and maintenance issues are gaining more attention than ever. Maintenance is important to keep a system running and ensure that it performs its functions satisfactorily. Often, there are limited resources to complete the maintenance of a system.
