Coalescence 2.0: a multiple branching of recent theoretical developments and their applications [PDF]
Population genetics theory has laid the foundations for genomics analyses including the recent burst in genome scans for selection and statistical inference of past demographic events in many prokaryote, animal and plant species.

MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Genomic scans for selective sweeps using SNP data [PDF]
Detecting selective sweeps from genomic SNP data is complicated by the intricate ascertainment schemes used to discover SNPs, and by the confounding influence of the underlying complex demographics and varying mutation and recombination rates.

An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Artificial selection footprints in indigenous and commercial chicken genomes
Background Although many studies have been done to reveal artificial selection signatures in commercial and indigenous chickens, a limited number of genes have been linked to specific traits. To identify more trait-related artificial selection signatures

IntroductionIdentifying genomic regions under selection is the most challenging issue for improving important traits in animals. Few studies have focused on identifying genomic regions under selection in sheep.

Domestication and human selection have formed diverse goat breeds with characteristic phenotypes. This process correlated with the fixation of causative genetic variants controlling breed-specific traits within regions of reduced genetic diversity, so ...

We show that crystal-field calculations for $C_1$ point-group symmetry are possible, and that such calculations can be performed with sufficient accuracy to have substantial utility for rare-earth based quantum information applications. In particular, we

Hysteresis-Free Nanosecond Pulsed Electrical Characterization of Top-Gated Graphene Transistors [PDF]
We measure top-gated graphene field effect transistors (GFETs) with nanosecond-range pulsed gate and drain voltages. Due to high-k dielectric or graphene imperfections, the drain current decreases ~10% over time scales of ~10 us, consistent with charge ...

Genetic signatures of evolutionary rescue by a selective sweep [PDF]
AbstractOne of the most useful models in population genetics is that of a selective sweep and the consequent hitch-hiking of linked neutral alleles. While variations on this model typically assume constant population size, many instances of strong selection and rapid adaptation in nature may co-occur with complex demography.
