Forward and Adjoint Calculations of Gravitational Potential in Heterogeneous, Aspherical Planets
Abstract We have developed a computational package for the calculation of numerically exact internal and external gravitational potential, its functional derivatives and sensitivity kernels, in an aspherical, heterogeneous planet. We detail our implementation, utilizing a transformation of the Poisson equation into a spherical reference domain, as well

Postnikov extensions of ring spectra
We give a functorial construction of k-invariants for ring spectra and use these to classify extensions in the Postnikov tower of a ring spectrum.Comment: This is the version published by Algebraic & Geometric Topology on 1 November ...

Littlewood, Paley and almost‐orthogonality: a theory well ahead of its time
Abstract The classic paper by Littlewood and Paley [J. Lond. Math. Soc. (1), 6 (1931), 230–233] marked the birth of Littlewood–Paley theory. We discuss this paper and its impact from a historical perspective, include an outline of the results in the paper and their subsequent significance in relation to developments over the last century, and set them ...

Global weak solutions for the compressible Poisson–Nernst–Planck–Navier–Stokes system
Abstract We consider the compressible Poisson–Nernst–Planck–Navier–Stokes (PNPNS) system of equations, governing the transport of charged particles under the influence of the self‐consistent electrostatic potential, in a three‐dimensional bounded domain.

On the homotopy theory of stratified spaces
Let $ P $ be a poset. We show that the $\infty$-category $\mathbf{Str}_P$ of $\infty$-categories with a conservative functor to $P$ can be obtained from the ordinary category of $P$-stratified topological spaces by inverting a class of weak equivalences.

Isoperimetric inequalities on slabs with applications to cubes and Gaussian slabs
Abstract We study isoperimetric inequalities on “slabs”, namely weighted Riemannian manifolds obtained as the product of the uniform measure on a finite length interval with a codimension‐one base. As our two main applications, we consider the case when the base is the flat torus R2/2Z2$\mathbb {R}^2 / 2 \mathbb {Z}^2$ and the standard Gaussian measure

The homotopical information hidden in a supersymmetric structure is revealed by considering deformations of a configuration manifold. This is in sharp contrast to the usual standpoints such as Connes' programme where a geometrical structure is rigidly ...

Optimal decay estimates for the general solution to a class of semi-linear dissipative hyperbolic equations [PDF]
We consider a class of semi-linear dissipative hyperbolic equations in which the operator associated to the linear part has a nontrivial kernel.
