Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Alkyne‐Based Dual‐Function Self‐Assembled Monolayers for Efficient and Stable p‐i‐n Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A novel molecular design strategy is employed to modify the D–A type SAM using an alkyne linker. Incorporation of the alkyne linker enhanced π‐electron delocalization, facilitating more efficient hole transfer, and strengthened interfacial bonding, thereby improving device stability. As a result, the perovskite solar cells achieved an impressive PCE of

Degradation Mechanisms Associated with Electron‐Blocking Layers in Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The effects of the three typical EBLs NiOx, PTAA, and 2PACz on the photovoltaic performance and degradation mechanisms are investigated under light soaking and solar‐thermal cycling conditions of corresponding PSCs, demonstrating that 2PACz is the best EBL due to the better interface contact and lower lattice distortion.

Electron-Transfer Properties of Phenyleneethynylene Linkers Bound to Gold via a Self-Assembled Monolayer of Molecular Tripod

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
The three-point adsorption of tripod-shaped molecules enables the formation of robust self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on solid surfaces, where the component molecules are fixed in a strictly upright orientation.

Electron transport through rectifying self-assembled monolayer diodes on silicon: Fermi level pinning at the molecule-metal interface

open access: yes, 2006
We report the synthesis and characterization of molecular rectifying diodes on silicon using sequential grafting of self-assembled monolayers of alkyl chains bearing a pi group at their outer end (Si/sigma-pi/metal junctions).

Chiral‐Encoded Pt‐Ir Surfaces as Apparent Spin Filter for Enhanced Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Chiral‐Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) effect is employed in chiral‐encoded mesoporous Platinum‐Iridium (Pt‐Ir) electrocatalysts to enhance the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). A break in spin symmetry leads to a substantial antagonistic difference in activity (>200%) when comparing two enantiomorphs of the same electrode.

Infrared Ellipsometric Study of Hydrogen-Bonded Long-Chain Thiolates on Gold: Towards Resolving Structural Details

open access: yesMicromachines, 2011
A set of newly synthesized aryl-substituted amides of 16-mercaptohexadecanoic acid (R = 4-OH; 3,5-di-OH) are self-assembled on Au(111) substrate. Self assembled monolayers (SAMs) formed by these molecules are studied by ellipsometry from infrared to ...

The Role of Self-Assembly Monolayers (SAM) on Schottky Diode Performance

open access: yesDüzce Üniversitesi Bilim ve Teknoloji Dergisi
This study investigates the electrical and charge transport properties of Schottky diodes with a p-Si/TiO2/SAM/Al structure, incorporating the self-assembly monolayers (SAMs) 4", 4""-[biphenyl-4,4" diylbis(phenylimino)]dibiphenyl-4-carboxylic acid (MZ187) onto a titanium dioxide (TiO2) layer synthesized via the sol-gel method.

The oriented and patterned growth of fluorescent metal–organic frameworks onto functionalized surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A metal–organic framework (MOF) material, [Zn2(adc)2(dabco)] (adc = anthracene-9,10-dicarboxylate, dabco = 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane), the fluorescence of which depends on the loading of its nanopores, was synthesized in two forms: as free-flowing ...
