Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

A note on 4-self-centered graphs

open access: yesBoletim da Sociedade Paranaense de Matemática
A graph G is said to be 4-self-centered if the eccentricity of each of its vertices is 4. In this paper, we discuss some properties associated to 4-self-centered graphs. We obtain its degree and girth and also the maximum number of triangles in such graphs. We also establish the existence of 8-cycles and 9-cycles in these graphs.

Self-centering steel moment-resisting frames with energy dissipating systems

open access: yes, 2007
A new connection for steel welded moment-resisting frames (WMRFs) that incorporates posttensioning elements to provide a self-centering capacity along with friction mechanisms to dissipate energy was proposed and experimentally validated.

Seismic Displacement Demands on Self-Centering Single-Degree-of-Freedom Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
M.A.Sc. ThesisMost conventional seismic design intends for key structural members to yield in order to limit seismic forces, leading to structural damage after a major earthquake.

Relationship Between Neurologic Symptoms and Signs and FMR1 Genotype in Premutation Carriers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Fragile X‐associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) is the most severe late‐onset condition caused by a premutation in the FMR1 gene, characterized by expanded CGG triplet repeats of 55–200. Clinical presentations of FXTAS, including gait ataxia, kinetic tremor, cognitive decline, and rare Parkinsonism, are linked to ...

Dementia Incidence in Individuals With Parkinson's Disease in the Framingham Heart Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Limited information exists on incident dementia in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) in US community‐based samples. We examined cognitive statuses and PD diagnoses of 183 individuals in the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) to establish incident dementia, mortality rates, associations with sex, age at PD onset, and education level.

Added Prognostic Value of EEG Reactivity in Comatose Patients Following Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the added prognostic value of EEG reactivity for favorable outcome compared with background analysis during and after targeted temperature management (TTM). Methods Prospective observational cohort study of comatose post–cardiac arrest patients admitted to a single academic center between 2017 and 2022, all undergoing ...
