Fairness of Energy Distribution Mechanisms in Collective Self-Consumption Schemes

open access: yes2025 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Europe (ISGT Europe)
In several European countries, regulatory frameworks now allow households to form energy communities and trade energy locally via local energy markets (LEMs). While multiple mechanisms exist to allocate locally produced energy among members, their fairness remains insufficiently understood despite energy justice being a key concern for communities ...

Energy-Efficient Load Balancing Ant Based Routing Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a type of self-organizing networks with limited energy supply and communication ability. One of the most crucial issues in WSNs is to use an energy-efficient routing protocol to prolong the network lifetime.

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Data-cell-variation-tolerant triple sampling non-destructive self-reference sensing scheme of STT-MRAM

open access: yesAIP Advances
Inevitable process variations (PVT) brought by both the magnetic tunneling junction (MTJ) and MOSFET based on the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology become a major obstacle for the mass production of spin transfer torque magnetic ...

Techno-Economic Optimization of Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Systems Based on Maximum Demand Reduction (MDRed) Modelling in Malaysia

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Under the present electricity tariff structure in Malaysia, electricity billing on a monthly basis for commercial and industrial consumers includes the net consumption charges together with maximum demand (MD) charges. The use of batteries in combination

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Optimization Design and Experimental Verification of the Hydrogen-Powered Self-Propelled Plant Protection Machine

open access: yesEnergies
The design objectives for the overall parameters of the hydrogen-powered self-propelled plant protection machine are multiple, and the constraints are complex, making it difficult for single-objective optimization methods to achieve the optimal design ...
