Nearly-complete Decomposability and Stochastic Stability with an Application to Cournot Oligopoly [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a general framework for analysing stochastic stability in models with evolution at two levels. Under certain conditions the theory of nearly-complete decomposability can be used to disentangle these two levels.

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Sustainable Electrochemical Synthesis of High‐Quality MXenes: Mechanistic Insights, Applications, Challenges, and Technological Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical etching provides an eco‐friendly alternative to hazardous HF methods for MXene production. This approach facilitates the selective isolation of the A‐layer from MAX phases with tunable surface terminations. Controlling voltage, electrolytes, temperature, and duration enables the optimal structural integrity. Nevertheless, existing scale

Redirecting Nano‐Silicon Agglomeration: Dual‐Carbon Design Triggers Self‐Adaptive Nanoporous Si Sponge for Enhanced Lithium Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study addresses silicon anode degradation using an engineered nSi/Gr/C dual‐carbon matrix. By restricting SEI infiltration, the architecture redirects silicon agglomeration into a beneficial structural self‐adaptive activation. During cycling, silicon nanoparticles self‐organize into a resilient nanoporous sponge. This dynamic network accommodates

Reverse self-decomposability

open access: yes, 1989
In this paper we consider the analog of multiple self-decomposability for characteristic functions $\phi$ satisfying $\phi(t) = \phi^{c^\alpha} (c^{-1}t) \phi_c(t)$. We obtain results analogous to those known for multiple selfdecomposable characteristic

Glucose Deprivation‐Driven Concurrent Induction of Apoptosis/Disulfidptosis/Ferroptosis by Tumor Targeting Nanoassemblies in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Innovative hybrid nanoassemblies installed with ferrocene, D‐α‐tocopherol succinate, and phloretin exploit the metabolic vulnerability of triple‐negative breast cancer under glucose starvation. By blocking glucose uptake, this single nanoplatform simultaneously orchestrates apoptosis, disulfidptosis, and ferroptosis to achieve synergistic and ...

Calibration of self-decomposable Lévy models

open access: yesBernoulli, 2014
We study the nonparametric calibration of exponential Lévy models with infinite jump activity. In particular our analysis applies to self-decomposable processes whose jump density can be characterized by the $k$-function, which is typically nonsmooth at zero.
