Semi-Supervised Learning under Class Distribution Mismatch [PDF]
Semi-supervised learning (SSL) aims to avoid the need for collecting prohibitively expensive labelled training data. Whilst demonstrating impressive performance boost, existing SSL methods artificially assume that small labelled data and large ...

Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Robust Representation Learning with Self-Distillation for Domain Generalization
Domain generalization is a challenging problem in machine learning, where the goal is to train a model that can generalize well to unseen target domains without prior knowledge of these domains.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Self-Distillation for Further Pre-training of Transformers
Pre-training a large transformer model on a massive amount of unlabeled data and fine-tuning it on labeled datasets for diverse downstream tasks has proven to be a successful strategy, for a variety of vision and natural language processing tasks ...

This study presents a new hole transporting material (HTM) mechanism for self‐assembled monolayers in near‐infrared organic photodetectors. The formation of zwitterions induces a strong electric field that significantly increases the work function of HTM‐coated indium tin oxide substrates. The devices exhibit low dark current and noise, along with high

Advancing Face Parsing in Real-World: Synergizing Self-Attention and Self-Distillation
Face parsing, the segmentation of facial components at the pixel level, is pivotal for comprehensive facial analysis. However, previous studies encountered challenges, showing reduced performance in areas with small or thin classes like necklaces and ...

Instance Segmentation Network With Self-Distillation for Scene Text Detection
Segmentation based methods have become the mainstream for detecting scene text with arbitrary orientations and shapes. In order to address challenging problems such as separating the text instances that are very close to each other, however, these ...
