Enhanced Tantalum Superconducting Resonator Performance via All‐Surface Organic Monolayer Passivation

The internal quality factor of tantalum superconducting resonators is significantly increased by ∼140% in the low photon regime by passivating their surfaces with a high‐quality alkene self‐assembled monolayer. Our methodology promises to enhance the performance of superconducting quantum circuits.

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

Tuning Redox Dynamics in Cu‐Based Electrocatalysts: Effect of Secondary Metals

Advanced analysis of operando X‐ray absorption spectroscopy data reveals that secondary metals affect the redox processes in Cu‐based catalysts for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction. This influences the amount of oxides formed under pulsed reaction conditions and the distribution of reaction products.

Giant Electrostriction in Halide Perovskites Revisited With Double‐Modulation Interferometry

A giant electrostrictive effect in lead halide perovskites had been reported previously. This work uses sensitive interferometry to measure the electromechanical response of various halide perovskite samples. The results reveal no intrinsic electrostrictive compression. Instead, the materials expand primarily under an applied electric field as a result
