MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Adaptive self-excited vibrations suppression during milling

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
The problem of the occurrence and rapid suppression of unstable self-excited vibrations arising in the process of milling is considered. It is assumed that tool (cutter) is connected with machine overarm by an elastic suspension, which is used for force sensation. The tool moves evenly along the work surface with a given pressure on it. Pressing of the

Dynamic Pairing Effects on Low-Frequency Modes of Excitation in Deformed Mg Isotopes close to the Neutron Drip Line

open access: yes, 2005
Low-frequency quadrupole vibrations in deformed ${}^{36,38,40}$Mg are studied by means of the deformed Quasiparticle-RPA based on the coordinate-space Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism.

Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Ethylene: Catalyst Design and Synchrotron‐Based Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review evaluates strategies for electrochemical CO2 reduction to ethylene, focusing on copper‐based catalyst design and microenvironment modulation to achieve industrial‐grade performance. By leveraging operando synchrotron‐based characterizations, we provide a multiscale understanding of dynamic structural transformations and key reaction ...

Spin‐Dependent Generation of Surface‐Bound Radicals Toward Selective and Long‐Lasting Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel atomic engineering strategy to fine‐tune the spin state of α‐Fe2O3 catalysts toward a medium‐spin state, thereby modulating peroxymonosulfate activation and selectively yielding surface‐bound radicals. Compared with free radicals, surface‐bound radicals exhibit moderated oxidation potential, extended lifespan, surface ...

Shaft vibrations in turbomachinery excited by cracks [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
During the past years the dynamic behavior of rotors with cracks has been investigated mainly theoretically. This paper deals with the comparison of analytical and experimental results of the dynamics of a rotor with an artificial crack. The experimental

Raman scattering in current carrying molecular junctions. A preliminary account

open access: yes, 2008
This is a preliminary acount of a theory for Raman scattering by current-carrying molecular junctions. The approach combines a non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) description of the non-equilibrium junction with a generalized scattering theory ...

Molecularly Engineered Highly Stable Memristors with Ultra‐Low Operational Voltage: Integrating Synthetic DNA with Quasi‐2D Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecularly engineered memristors integrating Ag nanoparticle–embedded synthetic DNA with quasi‐2D halide perovskites enable ultra‐low‐operational voltage, forming‐free resistive switching, and record‐low power density. This synergistic integration of customized DNA and 2D OHP in bio‐hybrid architecture enhances charge transport, reduces variability ...

Measuring Vibration in the Air Slide Tables of Ultra Precision Machines With the Different Number of Air Pockets [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2009
Vibration in the air slide tables of ultra precision machines prevents gaining accuracies within nanometer level. In this work, dissimilar types of internal vibration including small vibrations and pneumatic hammers have been tested and some measures ...

Numerical Study on Pulse Flow Characteristics of Reflux Self-excited Oscillator

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2022
The pulse jet produced by self-excited oscillator excites and vibrates the drill string and converts the static friction between drill string and borehole wall into the dynamic friction, reducing the friction dynamically. In order to reduce the frequency ...
