Forced and self-excited oscillations of an optomechanical cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We experimentally study forced and self oscillations of an optomechanical cavity which is formed between a fiber Bragg grating that serves as a static mirror and between a freely suspended metallic mechanical resonator that serves as a moving mirror.

Carbon Contacts to Proteins Enable Robust, Biocompatible Electronic Junctions with Near‐Activation‐less Conduction Down to 10 K

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A robust solid‐state protein junction with a semi‐transparent eC/Au electrode allows photoexcitation of the bacterio‐rhodopsin, bR layer, to isomerize the bR retinal. The resulting photo‐response shows the protein is functional in the solid‐state junction.

Characteristic Analysis of the Stick-Slip Vibration of Gear Transmission System in High-speed Train

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
In order to study the torsional vibration of gear transmission system under slippage in high-speed train.A parametric vibration model of the gear transmission system is developed when the time-varying stiffness and the transmission error are considered ...

A molecular state of correlated electrons in a quantum dot

open access: yes, 2008
Correlation among particles in finite quantum systems leads to complex behaviour and novel states of matter. One remarkable example is predicted to occur in a semiconductor quantum dot (QD) where at vanishing density the Coulomb correlation among ...

Cooling of a suspended nanowire by an AC Josephson current flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We consider a nanoelectromechanical Josephson junction, where a suspended nanowire serves as a superconducting weak link, and show that an applied DC bias voltage an result in suppression of the flexural vibrations of the wire.

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Research on Design Features and Vibration Characteristics of Self-excited Hydraulic Oscillator

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
The structural parameters of the self-excited hydraulic oscillator such as shoulder distance, split distance, loop width and side wall angle are the direct factors that affect its vibration characteristics.

Some field experience with subsynchronous vibration of centrifugal compressors [PDF]

open access: yes
A lot of large chemical fertilizer plants producing 1000 ton NH3/day and 1700 ton urea/day were constructed in the 1970's in China. During operation, subsynchronous vibration takes place occasionally in some of the large turbine-compressor sets and has ...

High efficient catalytic degradation of tetracycline and ibuprofen using visible light driven novel Cu/Bi2Ti2O7/rGO nanocomposite::Kinetics, intermediates and mechanism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The photoexcited charge carriers trapping was an effective way to generate a large number of active species like O-2(center dot-) and (OH)-O-center dot radicals to oxidize pharmaceutical molecules.

Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Ethylene: Catalyst Design and Synchrotron‐Based Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review evaluates strategies for electrochemical CO2 reduction to ethylene, focusing on copper‐based catalyst design and microenvironment modulation to achieve industrial‐grade performance. By leveraging operando synchrotron‐based characterizations, we provide a multiscale understanding of dynamic structural transformations and key reaction ...
