Self-healing Computation [PDF]
In the problem of reliable multiparty computation (RC), there are $n$ parties, each with an individual input, and the parties want to jointly compute a function $f$ over $n$ inputs. The problem is complicated by the fact that an omniscient adversary controls a hidden fraction of the parties. We describe a self-healing algorithm for this problem.

We show that, contrary to popular belief, diffraction-free beams may not only reconstruct themselves after hitting an opaque obstacle but also, for example, Gaussian beams. We unravel the mathematics and the physics underlying the self-reconstruction mechanism and we provide for a novel definition for the minimum reconstruction distance beyond ...

Self‐Regulated Self‐Healing Robotic Gripper for Resilient and Adaptive Grasping
Flexible, soft materials are increasingly used for the fabrication of soft robots, as the inherent compliance and shock‐absorbance protect the robot from mechanical impact.

Ultrasonic inspection and self-healing of Ge and 3C-SiC semiconductor membranes [PDF]
Knowledge of the mechanical properties and stability of thin film structures is important for device operation. Potential failures related to crack initiation and growth must be identified early, to enable healing through e.g. annealing.

DEX: Self-Healing Expanders [PDF]
We present a fully-distributed self-healing algorithm DEX, that maintains a constant degree expander network in a dynamic setting. To the best of our knowledge, our algorithm provides the first efficient distributed construction of expanders --- whose expansion properties hold {\em deterministically} --- that works even under an all-powerful adaptive ...

Manufacturing challenges in self-healing technology for polymer composites — a review
Self-healing polymer materials have the functional characteristics of curing when a crack penetrates the material. Damage response, healing ability and healing performance are the most important healing characteristics of a self-healing material.

Crack healing in cementitious materials including test methods [PDF]
If concrete is crack free, deleterious substances can be avoided entering the body of the material, that may corrode the rebar or encourage freeze/thaw damage. This paper examines a self healing system of cementitious materials.

Self-Healing Structural Materials [PDF]
Self-healing materials have been developed since the 1990s and are currently used in various applications. Their performance in extreme environments and their mechanical properties have become a topic of research interest. Herein, we discuss cutting-edge self-healing technologies for hard materials and their expected healing processes.

Flexible aromatic disulfide monomers for high-performance self-healable linear and cross-linked poly(urethane-urea) coatings [PDF]
Implementation of the self-healing concept in coatings is challenging because they have to combine mechanical strength and chain mobility. This challenge is addressed in this work by studying the effect of the polymer microstructure on the mechanical ...

The concept of self‐healing dielectric polymers has been heatedly discussed, with the expectation of high damage resistance and longer service time. However, there is still a lack of analysis on the competitive relationship between electrical degradation
