High magnification self-imaging

Applied Optics, 1982
Strongly magnified images of a periodic object can be obtained by using the Talbot effect. Two particular advantages are simplicity and compactness of the setup even for a high magnification ratio. First we recall the principle of self-imaging and the basic results derived by Rayleigh.

Electromagnetically induced self-imaging

Optics Letters, 2007
We study the self-imaging and image-transforming properties of a probe field in a cold atomic medium with electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). Due to the similarities between the gradient-index medium and the inhomogeneous index distribution of an EIT medium under the conditions of a negative probe detuning and a Gaussian control field, we ...

Self-Image of Nurses

Psychological Reports, 1976
163 female graduate nurses described themselves using Gough and Heilbrun's Adjective Check List. The nurses scored higher on Dominance, Self-control, Achievement, Order, Self-confidence, Counseling, Readiness and Nurturance, among other variables and lower on Succorance, Change, Abasement, Lability and Number of Unfavorable Items Checked than the ...

Self-Image of Social Workers

Psychological Reports, 1976
105 female social workers described themselves using Gough and Heilbrun's Adjective Check List. They scored higher on Achievement, Endurance, Dominance, Self-control, Order, Self-confidence, Defensiveness, Personal Adjustment, and Aggression among other variables and lower on Number of Unfavorable Adjectives Checked, Affiliation, and Succorance than ...

Differentiation of Adolescent Self-Images

Archives of General Psychiatry, 1973
Multiple self-images held by 58 adolescents were studied using a specially developed Q-sort technique. A perceptual-cognitive process, psychological differentiation, was also followed. Results suggest that "realms" of self-image are selectively influenced by psychopathology, age, and sex.

Israeli adolescents' self-image profile

Journal of Youth and Adolescence, 1987
Seven hundred and seventy-two Jewish Israeli male and female high school students (aged 14-18) responded to a Hebrew version of the Offer Self-Image Questionnaire (OSIQ). Results show that, much like the American adolescents, the majority of the Israeli respondents are happy and well-adjusted, although a noticeable minority experiences some personal ...

Self-imaging fields

Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1981
An analysis is made of nonmonochromatic and monochromatic fields which can reproduce themselves in space. In the paraxial approximation the self-imaging condition is satisfied by fields which are periodic in the transverse cross section and obey certain relationships between their geometric parameters.
