Self-injection with mercury

Injury, 1993
A 27.year-old doorman at a local hotel casino presented to the accident and emergency department in December 1991. He complained of a painful swelling on the flexor aspect of his forearm. Examination revealed a tender 4 x 5 cm fluctuant swelling. There were no local puncture sites or wounds. The ‘abscess’ was incised under local anaesthesia. The doctor

INTRATESTICULAR SELF-INJECTION OF TESTGASOLINE

The Journal of Urology, 2000
An 18-year-old man presented with progressive left testicular and inguinal pain 1 hour after self-injection of testgasoline into the left testicle. An anamnestic evaluation revealed that the intention was to obtain sexual satisfaction by manipulation of the testicles.

On Self-Injective Perfect Rings

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1996
AbstractLet R be a left and right perfect right self-injective ring. It is shown that if the radical of R is countably generated as a left ideal then R is quasi-Frobenius. It is also shown that the same conclusion can be drawn if r(A ∩ B) = r(A) + r(B) for all left ideals A and B of R.

Self-injective rings

1971
There are very few general results known for the maximal ring of quotients for rings with non-zero singular ideal. Most of the results deal with the case when the maximal ring of quotients is a self-injective ring, a case which will be studied in this Chapter.

Self-injective connected algebras

Communications in Algebra, 1997
Throughout this paper A is an algebra over a field k. We say that A is a connected k-algebra if there is a vector space decomposition A = $n>oAn, such that AiAj C and A0 = k. The augmentation ideal is the unique maximal graded ideal m := $i>oAi. We call Alm the trivial module, and usually denote it by k.

Partially Self-Injective Regular Rings

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1973
AbstractIt is proved, for any uncountable cardinal λ, that a λ-complete Boolean ring is λ-self-injective. An example shows that the converse need not hold.

Schedule-induced self injection of drugs

Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, 1984
The schedule-induced polydipsia paradigm has been used to induce oral ingestion of large volumes of alcohol, barbiturate and other drug solutions. We have developed a method of schedule-induced self injection which allows the study of acquisition and maintenance of drug intake behaviour in changing environments free from the interference of taste ...

Intracavernous Self-Injection for Erectile Failure

European Urology, 1988
Thirty-three patients with erectile failure were taught to self-inject papaverine intracavernosally. The dose was from 15 to 80 mg. Phentolamine was added if 80 mg was not sufficient. The patients kept a diary on the effects of the regimen, and also filled out a questionnaire after a follow-up of 4-16 months.

Self-Injectable Epinephrine for Allergic Emergencies

The Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2009
Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening systemic reaction that can affect all ages. Epinephrine is frequently cited as the first-line and single most important agent in the treatment of severe allergic emergencies. Prompt administration of self-injectable epinephrine by patients and caretakers remains a key component in effective out-of-hospital ...
