A Note on a Self Injective Ring [PDF]

A ring R with unity is called right (left) self injective if the right (left) R-module R is injective [7]. The purpose of this note is to prove the following: Let R be a prime ring with a maximal annihilator right (left) ideal. If R is right (left) self injective then R is a primitive ring with a minimal one-sided ideal.

On Self-Injective Group Rings [PDF]

Conditions are given under which the self-injectivity of the group ring AG implies the finiteness of G. It has been known for some time that if A is a self-injective ring (associative with 1) and G is a finite group, then the group ring AG is selfinjective; and conversely that if AG is self-injective then A is self-injective and G is locally finite [4].

It is well-known that the Steenrod algebra $A$ is self-injective as a graded ring. We make the observation that simply changing the grading on $A$ can make it cease to be self-injective. We see also that $A$ is not self-injective as an ungraded ring.
