Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF MECHANISM OVER-CENTER LOCKING CONSIDERING WEAR AND CLEARANCE

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2015
Depending on the form of mechanism, the hinge wear and rod end bearing wear are considered respectively, and the self-lubricating rod end bearing wear model are established. Then the over-center locking reliability analysis model of four bar linkage ...

Unlocking Blocked Communicating Processes

open access: yes, 2015
We study the problem of disentangling locked processes via code refactoring. We identify and characterise a class of processes that is not lock-free; then we formalise an algorithm that statically detects potential locks and propose refactoring ...

Design and analysis of a reconfigurable discrete pin tooling system for molding of three-dimensional free-form objects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents the design and analysis of a new reconfigurable tooling for the fabrication of three-dimensional (3D) free-form objects. The proposed reconfigurable tooling system comprises a set of matrices of a closely stacked discrete elements (i ...

A self-locked magneto-optic trap

open access: yesOptics Communications, 2002
We present a novel technique to lock the frequency of the trapping laser of a magneto-optic trap (MOT) using a signal generated from the ultracold atoms in the MOT itself. This technique utilizes the large number of very cold, slowmoving atoms in the MOT to generate a signal free of Doppler-broadening.

Characterisation of the potential of frequency modulation and optical feedback locking for cavity-enhanced absorption spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2012
A combination of optical feedback self-locking of a continuous-wave distributed feedback diode laser to a V-shaped high finesse cavity, laser phase modulation at a frequency equal to the free spectral range of the V-cavity and detection of the ...

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for

Self-locking MRF latches and dampers

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2009
MRF actuators are new electromechanical components using Magneto Rheological Fluids (MRF). When submitted to a high enough magnetic field, MRF switch from a liquid to a near solid body. New MRF actuators were developed in order to reach three aims: to offer a blocking force without power consumption which can be strongly reduced by applying a current ...
