On the Modeling of Irreversibility by Relaxator Liouville Dynamics

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 2, February 2026.
A general approach to modeling irreversibility starting from microscopic reversibility is presented. A relaxator that breaks reversibility condenses in the Liouville operator of the relevant degrees of freedom. The irreversible relaxator Liouville equation contains memory effects and initial correlations of all degrees of freedom. Stationary states are

A 16‐Year Green Sturgeon Population Survey: Investigating River Discharge, Species Identification, Sampling Technology, Survey Extent and Possible Spawning Cyclic Dominance

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Monitoring and understanding the population structure of anadromous fishes is vital to their conservation. The southern distinct population segment of green sturgeon (Acipenser medirostris) is a threatened long‐lived anadromous fish, for which we have insufficient information about fundamental aspects of population structure.

Dimer models and conformal structures

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 2, Page 340-446, February 2026.
Abstract Dimer models have been the focus of intense research efforts over the last years. Our paper grew out of an effort to develop new methods to study minimizers or the asymptotic height functions of general dimer models and the geometry of their frozen boundaries.

Accelerated Diffusion Basis Spectrum Imaging With Tensor Computations

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 2, February 1, 2026.
We introduce a new framework for accelerated processing of diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) data using a machine learning approach to optimize parameter estimation. We demonstrate that this new method, called DBSIpy, significantly improves computational speed and robustness to Rician noise compared to the standard DBSI method, with the improvements ...

Common purpose advantage: Reviving a managerial theory of the firm?

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 2, Page 583-615, February 2026.
Abstract Research Summary What is the most effective way to distribute organizational objectives across managers? While prior work suggests managers should each focus on a single objective, we draw on Barnard's original insights on corporate purpose to identify conditions when managers pursuing the full set of objectives is advantageous.
