Development of self‐pollinating breeding line with closed‐flowering traits in buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum)

Plant Breeding, 2021
AbstractBuckwheat has open‐flower morphology; therefore, isolation is necessary to propagate even in self‐pollinating lines. Here, we developed a self‐pollinating closed flower breeding line ‘CFK1’ by crossing between closed‐flowering individual and self‐pollinating breeding line.

The effectiveness of fungicides against blister smut and fusarium on the cobs in growing self-pollinated corn lines

REPORTS ADYGE (CIRCASSIAN) INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, 2020
In the Stavropol Territory and in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic of late, the most harmful and dominant diseases of corn are blister smut and fusarium on the cob. It has been established that the most harmful damage to the ears, in which the productivity of plants decreases by 30-50%.

Traits of a self‐pollinating and preharvest‐sprouting‐resistant line of summer buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum)

Plant Breeding, 2021
AbstractOne of the important breeding issues in buckwheat is to increase resistance to preharvest sprouting, which can result in the loss of yield and quality of buckwheat food, especially in spring‐sown buckwheat. The preharvest‐sprouting resistance of self‐pollinating buckwheat in the summer ecotype is very weak.

An evaluation for genetic variation within maize inbred lines maintained by sib-mating and self-pollination

Euphytica, 1986
Maintaining maize (Zea mays L.) inbred lines without genetic change is an important concern of maize breeders and seed producers. Long-time inbred lines, however, have been shown to be genetically unstable, and with selection pressure acting on the resulting genetic variation, these lines have evolved into different strains. The objective of this study

Evaluation of combining ability and heterosis of six bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.) self-pollinated lines at S5 generation

The Journal of Agriculture and Development, 2022
Research and production of hybrid seed for bitter gourd are still limited in Vietnam. It is difficult for creating inbred lines and determining combining ability and heterosis crosses because hybrid seed production is highly timeconsuming. The objective of this study was to determine bitter gourd inbred lines with high combining ability and heterosis ...

CREATION OF SELF-POLLINING SUNFLOWER LINES AND HYBRIDSWITH INCREASED OLEIC ACID CONTENT IN SEED OIL

3i intellect idea innovation - интеллект идея инновация
The gene pool of self-pollinated sunflower lines of «VKSHOS» LLP was created for the period 1972-2022. Its formation and replenishment were carried out in the process of selection work and introduction. The lines were studied for all valuable economically useful traits, but the fatty acid composition of the oil in the seeds began to be studied only in ...

Evaluation of general and specific combining abilities of self-pollinated corn lines for yield and harvest moisture of grains

Oil Crops
The objective of the study was to evaluate the general and specific combining abilities (GCA and SCA) of self-pollinated corn lines for yield and harvest moisture of grain. The research was conducted on the fields of the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center in 2020–2022 due to the methodology of the All-Russian Research Institute of Corn for field ...

Evaluation of specific combining ability and heterosis of 6 melon (Cucumis melo L. var. inodorus) self-pollinated lines at the 5th generation

The Journal of Agriculture and Development
The study was carried out from August 2022 to February 2023 at the Biotechnology Center of Ho Chi Minh City with the objective of determining inbred melon lines with high combining ability and heterosis. The experiment was executed in plastic house condition and laid out in a completely randomized design with single factor with 3 replications ...
