Self‐regulated learning in virtual communities
Technology, Pedagogy and Education, 2008This paper investigates self-regulated learning (SRL) in a virtual learning community of adults interacting through asynchronous textual communication. The investigation method chosen is interaction analysis, a qualitative/quantitative approach allowing a systematic study of the contents of the messages exchanged within online communities.

Effects of self-regulated learning in programming
Fifth IEEE International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies (ICALT'05), 2005Effects of self-regulated learning (SRL) have been investigated in a variety of contexts. In this research, we explore advanced learning technologies based on the information processing model of SRL in the context of structured programming. We conducted an experiment to study ways to enhance the use of programmers' working memory, to develop tactics to

Assessment of a Self-regulated Learning Intervention
The Spanish Journal of Psychology, 2014AbstractFollowing a pretest-posttest design with no control group, this paper evaluates the efficacy of an intervention program. Consisting of twelve sessions, the program endeavored to increase knowledge and use of self-regulated learning strategies, as well as study time, in 277 first-year ...

Self-regulated Fading in On-line Learning
2009Self-regulation and scaffolding are two important techniques for improving student performance in on-line learning systems. An experiment was carried out to see whether students could effectively regulate their own scaffolding and fading when using a system for improving their understanding of OO programming.

A Self-regulator for Navigational Learning in Hyperspace
2010Self-directed learning with hypertext-based resources involves navigating the hyperspace to construct knowledge, which requires learners to self-regulate their navigational learning process. Such self-regulation also involves planning the navigation process and reflecting on the knowledge construction process.

Knowledge Visualization for Self-Regulated Learning.
J. Educ. Technol. Soc., 2011The Web allows self-regulated learning through interaction with large amounts of learning resources. While enjoying the flexibility of learning, learners may suffer from cognitive overload and conceptual and navigational disorientation when faced with various information resources under disparate topics and complex knowledge structures.
