Blistering barnacles! What language do multilinguals swear in?! [PDF]
The present contribution focuses on the effects of language dominance / attrition, context of acquisition, age of onset of learning, frequency of general use of a language and sociodemographic variables on self-reported language choice for swearing ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Health, Mental Health and Labor Productivity: The Role of Self-Reporting Bias [PDF]
This paper relates physical and mental health status to labor force participation and compares these relationships among self-report and proxy respondents. Previous research has conjectured that self-reports of health status may lead to an upward bias in

Job Satisfaction as a Reflection of Disposition: A Multiple Source Casual Analysis [PDF]
Dispositional sources of job satisfaction have been the subject of recent research in the organizational sciences. Problems in much of this research, which limit the conclusions one can draw from the results, are discussed. This study makes a distinction

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.
