Self-similar sets and self-similar measures in the $p$-adics
In this paper, we investigate p -adic self-similar sets and p -adic self-similar measures. We introduce a condition (C) under which

Julia sets and self-similar sets
The paper establishes relationships between self-similar sets and Julia sets. The main result states the condition for a self-similar set to be homeomorphic to the Julia set for some polynomial map. It is known that for some polynomial map, under some conditions, Julia sets are self-similar and therefore can be defined by iterated function systems ...

Sexual & reproductive health self-care measurement tool [PDF]
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Self-Care Measurement Tool aims to provide a global standard approach to practical and accurate measurement of sexual and reproductive (SRH) self-care interventions, with a focus on three specific interventions: self ...

Dimensions of the Boundaries of Self-Similar Sets [PDF]
We introduce a finite boundary type condition on iterated function systems of contractive similitudes on R d . Under this condition, we compute the Hausdorff dimension of the boundary of the attractor in terms of the spectral radius of some finite offspring matrix. We describe how to construct such a matrix.

Coupled fractals in complete metric spaces
The aim of this paper is to present fixed set theorems, collage type and anticollage type results for single-valued operators T : X × X → X in the framework of a complete metric space X.

From Self-Similar Groups to Self-Similar Sets and Spectra [PDF]
The survey presents developments in the theory of self-similar groups leading to applications to the study of fractal sets and graphs, and their associated spectra.

The visible part of plane self-similar sets [PDF]
JMF was supported by an EPSRC grant whilst undertaking this work.Given a compact subset F of R2, the visible part VθF of F from direction θ is the set of x in F such that the half-line from x in direction θ intersects F only at x. It is suggested that if

For each $s \in (0,1]$, we give an example of a nowhere dense perfect set $E$ contained in the unit interval with $\dim_{\cal H} (E) = s$, which is not an attractor for any iterated function system composed of weak contractions. This answers a problem posed by Zoltán Buczolich at the Summer Symposium in Real Analysis XXXIX (June 8-13, 2015, St.~Olaf ...

Local Geometry of Self-similar Sets: Typical Balls, Tangent Measures and Asymptotic Spectra
We analyse the local geometric structure of self-similar sets with open set condition through the study of the properties of a distinguished family of spherical neighbourhoods, the typical balls.
