We introduce the self-similar sketch, a new method for the extraction of intermediate image features that combines three principles: detection of self-similarity structures, nonaccidental alignment, and instance-specific modelling. The method searches for self-similar image structures that form nonaccidental patterns, for example collinear arrangements.

From Self-Similar Groups to Self-Similar Sets and Spectra [PDF]
The survey presents developments in the theory of self-similar groups leading to applications to the study of fractal sets and graphs, and their associated spectra.

Self-Similar Turbulent Dynamo [PDF]
The amplification of magnetic fields in a highly conducting fluid is studied numerically. During growth, the magnetic field is spatially intermittent: it does not uniformly fill the volume, but is concentrated in long thin folded structures. Contrary to a commonly held view, intermittency of the folded field does not increase indefinitely throughout ...

Kinematic self-similarity [PDF]
Self-similarity in general relativity is briefly reviewed and the differences between self-similarity of the first kind and generalized self-similarity are discussed. The covariant notion of a kinematic self-similarity in the context of relativistic fluid mechanics is defined.

Self-similar hyperbolicity [PDF]
In this paper we consider expansive homeomorphisms of compact spaces with a hyperbolic metric presenting a self-similar behavior on stable and unstable sets. Several applications are given related to Hausdorff dimension, entropy, intrinsically ergodic measures and the transitivity of expansive homeomorphisms with canonical coordinates.

Self-Similarity for the Tricorn
We discuss self-similar property of the tricorn, the connectedness locus of the anti-holomorphic quadratic family. As a direct consequence of the study on straightening maps by Kiwi and the author, we show that there are many homeomorphic copies of the Mandelbrot sets.

ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Self-similarity of friction laws [PDF]
The change of the friction law from a mesoscopic level to a macroscopic level is studied in the spring-block models introduced by Burridge-Knopoff. We find that the Coulomb law is always scale invariant. Other proposed scaling laws are only invariant under certain conditions.}

ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.
