Self-Stabilizing Disconnected Components Detection and Rooted Shortest-Path Tree Maintenance in Polynomial Steps [PDF]
We deal with the problem of maintaining a shortest-path tree rooted at some process r in a network that may be disconnected after topological changes. The goal is then to maintain a shortest-path tree rooted at r in its connected component, V_r, and make

A Framework for Certified Self-Stabilization [PDF]
We propose a general framework to build certified proofs of distributed self-stabilizing algorithms with the proof assistant Coq. We first define in Coq the locally shared memory model with composite atomicity, the most commonly used model in the self ...

Self-Calibration Spherical Video Stabilization Based on Gyroscope
With the development of handheld video capturing devices, video stabilization becomes increasingly important. The gyroscope-based video stabilization methods perform promising ability, since they can return more reliable three-dimensional (3D) camera ...

Design and Analysis of Adaptive Hierarchical Low-Power Long-Range Networks
A new phase of evolution of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication has started where vertical Internet of Things (IoT) deployments dedicated to a single application domain gradually change to multi-purpose IoT infrastructures that service different ...

Convective Self‐Compression of Cratons and the Stabilization of Old Lithosphere
Despite being exposed to convective stresses for much of the Earth's history, cratonic roots appear capable of resisting mantle shearing. This tectonic stability can be attributed to the neutral density and higher strength of cratons. However, the excess

Self-stabilizing Automata [PDF]
Biological systems are known to be probabilistically self-stabilizing, i.e. with a high probability they can reach a stable state from any initial state. This property is very important to computer-based systems, too. However, building self-stabilizing systems is still very difficult. Proving that any given implementation is in fact self-stabilizing is

Randomization adaptive self-stabilization [PDF]
We present a scheme to convert self-stabilizing algorithms that use randomization during and following convergence to self-stabilizing algorithms that use randomization only during convergence. We thus reduce the number of random bits from an infinite number to a bounded number.

Self-stabilizing running [PDF]
Legged robots can sustain stable dynamic locomotion without sensors or feedback. It is possible to construct a running robot that is inherently stable and needs no sensing to reject minor perturbations; it is therefore self-stabilizing. In contrast, most previous attempts to make robots run have used active, high bandwidth feedback control systems.
