Influence of Alkaline Earth Barium on the Microstructure, Corrosion Behavior, and Cytocompatibility of Biodegradable Zinc

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Biodegradable Zn‐based alloys are promising candidates for temporary implants, yet excessive Zn2+ release during degradation may induce cytotoxicity and adverse tissue responses. In this study, Zn‐xBa alloys (x = 0.1 wt%, 0.5 wt%, 1.0 wt% and 3.0 wt%) were developed to achieve controlled corrosion behaviors with improved biocompatibility.

Polyrhythm Perception and Production: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1561, Issue 1, July 2026.
Findings from 64 empirical polyrhythm studies, comprising 96 experiments, indicate that these studies focus on simple ratios and auditory stimuli, and rely on relatively small sample sizes. We conclude that polyrhythmic complexity can be roughly estimated using ratio sum and Farey trees, that tempo influences beat perception within the constraints of a

The use of virtual reality in forensic‐correctional psychiatric settings: A systematic review

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, Volume 80, Issue 7, Page 546-565, July 2026.
Virtual reality (VR) is increasingly being used as an innovative technology for assessment, treatment, and training within psychiatric settings. However, little work has been done to synthesize existing literature on the use and benefits of VR in forensic‐correctional settings.
