Finding the self in self-transcendent emotions [PDF]
Emotion research has something in common with a drunk searching for his car keys under a street lamp. “Where did you lose them?” asks the cop. “In the alley,” says the drunk, “but the light is so much better over here.” For emotion research, the light shines most brightly on the face, whose movements can be coded, compared across cultures, and ...

Flexoelectricity in Photoconversion: Fundamentals, Materials, and Outlooks
Mechanical bending of a flexible cantilever induces a strain gradient in the photoactive material. The resulting flexoelectric field couples with photovoltaic and photoconductive effects, modulating charge generation, separation, and collection. A comparative analysis of oxide perovskites, halide perovskites, and two‐dimensional materials is presented,

Self-Transcendence in Mountaineering and BASE Jumping [PDF]
The "extreme sports" of mountaineering and BASE Jumping are growing in popularity and are associated with significant risk of injury and death. In recent years there have also been increasing numbers of reports of reckless disregard and selfishness in the pursuit of mountaineering goals, including severe environmental degradation.

This study reveals a metabolic signaling axis in the OSCC microenvironment where palmitic acid (PA) drives the activation of CAFs. PA uptake triggers CEBPG‐dependent epigenetic remodeling to upregulate ERN1 and TMBIM6, thereby mitigating ER stress. This adaptive program sustains CAF survival and the pro‐metastatic phenotype, establishing this pathway ...

An intracellular magneto‐mechanical platform utilizing MSC‐targeted nanomotors is developed. After intra‐articular delivery, these nanomotors target endogenous BMSCs and are actuated within lysosomes to execute trans‐planar rotational‐bouncing motions under a rotating‐fluctuating 3D magnetic field, generating amplified mechanical stimulation.

This study demonstrates a Bi2WO6/SrBi2Ta2O9 heterojunction where light‐driven ferroelectric polarization reversal couples with persistent photoconductivity, enabling exclusive NO2 selective room‐temperature sensing. The device achieves a two‐order‐of‐magnitude sensitivity enhancement over an unpolarized device, a sub‐ppb detection limit, and robust ...
