In the Selkup dialects the lexical-semantic group of movement verbs is represented by a large amount of the verbs describing various ways of movement, its nature, general orientation against the speaker, environment in which this movement occurs, and some other additional components. [Polymorphism of mitochondrial DNA in Northern Selkups].

The RFLPs detected by the AvaII, BamHI, EcoRV, KpnI, HaeIII, and RsaI restriction enzymes in the D-loop region of mitochondrial DNA of the Northern Selkups were analyzed. Frequencies of the rare variants were estimated for all polymorphic sites examined. A total of 16 mitotypes were described.

The description of the properties of this marker follows the linguistic questionnaire that captures the contexts in which essive and/or translative markers may occur in the Uralic languages.

[Heterozygosity and fertility in the Northern Selkup tribe].

The relationship between heterozygosity for 11 polymorphic loci and fertility of women having passed the menopause was studied in North-Siberian tribe North Selkup. Women with low level of heterozygosity were characterized by the highest values of variance of the number of livebirths and the index of early reproductive loss.
