Fracture of the Sella Turcica

We report the cases of three patients with fracture of the sella turcica. All three patients developed vascular complications. Patient 1 had a traumatic aneurysm, Patient 2 had stenosis of the intracranial internal carotid artery, and Patient 3 had bilateral carotid-cavernous fistulas.

Fractures of the Sella Turcica

Five recent cases of sella turcica fracture examined at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont are reported. These fractures are most commonly associated with frontal or maxillofacial trauma and are complicated by cranial nerve palsies, chiasmatic injury, and cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea and otorrhea.
