Semantic and Metasemantic Notions of Analyticity

open access: yesAsian Social Science, 2014
© 2014, Canadian Center of Science and Education. All rights reserved. In this article the evolution of main conceptions of analyticity is analyzed. Kant’s criteria for analytic/synthetic distinction are discussed. Frege and Carnap notions of analyticity are set out.

Semantic Annotation of Experimental Methods in Analytical Chemistry

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2022
A major obstacle for reusing and integrating existing data is finding the data that is most relevant in a given context. The primary metadata resource is the scientific literature describing the experiments that produced the data. To stimulate the development of natural language processing methods for extracting this information from articles, we have ...

Architecture and prototypical implementation of a semantic querying system for big Earth observation image bases

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Remote Sensing, 2017
Spatiotemporal analytics of multi-source Earth observation (EO) big data is a pre-condition for semantic content-based image retrieval (SCBIR). As a proof of concept, an innovative EO semantic querying (EO-SQ) subsystem was designed and prototypically ...

Semantic interaction for visual text analytics [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the SIGCHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2012
Visual analytics emphasizes sensemaking of large, complex datasets through interactively exploring visualizations generated by statistical models. For example, dimensionality reduction methods use various similarity metrics to visualize textual document collections in a spatial metaphor, where similarities between documents are approximately ...
