A Complete and Terminating Execution Model for Constraint Handling Rules [PDF]

open access: yesTheory and Practice of Logic Programming, Volume 10, Special Issue 4-6, July 2010, pp 597-610, 2010
We observe that the various formulations of the operational semantics of Constraint Handling Rules proposed over the years fall into a spectrum ranging from the analytical to the pragmatic. While existing analytical formulations facilitate program analysis and formal proofs of program properties, they cannot be implemented as is.

Decidable Tag-Based Semantic Subtyping for Nominal Types, Tuples, and Unions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 21st Workshop on Formal Techniques for Java-like Programs (FTfJP '19). ACM, New York, NY, USA, 2019, Article 3, 11 pages, 2019
Semantic subtyping enables simple, set-theoretical reasoning about types by interpreting a type as the set of its values. Previously, semantic subtyping has been studied primarily in the context of statically typed languages with structural typing. In this paper, we explore the applicability of semantic subtyping in the context of a dynamic language ...
