Semantic prosody, semantic transfer and semantic change

open access: yesICAME Journal
Abstract This article investigates semantic prosody in a diachronic perspective. Although prosodies have been shown to change over time, there is no consensus regarding the source of such changes. The present study explores this further through a corpus study of the development of the lemmas fabric, fabricate and fabrication from the ...

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

HCTANet: Hierarchical Cross-Temporal Attention Network for Semantic Change Detection in Complex Remote Sensing Scenes

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Semantic change detection has become a key technology for monitoring the evolution of land cover and land use categories at the semantic level. However, existing methods often lack effective information interaction and fail to capture changes at multiple

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

The role of GABA in semantic memory and its neuroplasticity

open access: yeseLife
A fundamental challenge in neuroscience is understanding neural functioning and plasticity of the brain. The anterior temporal lobe (ATL) is a hub for semantic memory, which generates coherent conceptual representations.

Semantic Change Pattern Analysis

open access: yes, 2020
Change detection is an important problem in vision field, especially for aerial images. However, most works focus on traditional change detection, i.e., where changes happen, without considering the change type information, i.e., what changes happen.

How do Typological Studies Explain the Semantic Changes of English Complex Prepositions?

open access: yesTopics in Linguistics, 2014
The purpose of this study is to investigate the semantic changes of English complex prepositions and to argue that they are explained on the basis of two possible mechanisms of semantic change.
