Characterization of the spatiotemporal representations of visual, semantic, and memorability features in the human brain.

open access: yesPLoS Biology
Object recognition requires integrated processing that extends beyond the visual cortex, incorporating semantic and memory-related processes. However, it remains unclear how different attributes, such as visual, semantic, and memorability features, are ...

Hardware‐Attentive Programmable Fourier Ptychography Enables Task‐Adaptive Label‐Free Virtual Staining

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Task‐adaptive programmable optics enables label‐free virtual staining through optical‐attention‐guided acquisition and reconstruction. By optimizing wavelength, illumination angle, exposure time, and imaging depth, the framework learns task‐relevant optical measurements, generating clinically interpretable virtual stains with improved fidelity, non ...

Molecular and Cellular Hallmarks of Age‐Related Vestibular Hair Cell Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilizes single‐cell RNA‐seq transcriptomes, advanced imaging, and electrophysiology to examine universal and cell‐type‐specific aging signatures of vestibular hair cells. The study shows that impaired hair bundle function is a key driver of age‐related vestibular dysfunction.

Semantic and Acoustic Coding in Short- and Long-Term Memory

open access: yes, 1969
This paper considers the evidence for semantic processing in STM. It is concluded that there is sufficient evidence of semantic processing in STM to make it impossible to dichotomize between long- and short-term memory on the basis of semantic coding ...
