On asynchronous communication semantics
1992This paper presents some results concerning equational theories for an elementary calculus based on a fragment of Milner's π-calculus. The system is interesting because it realises asynchronous message passing not by extending but reducing the original fragment, while preserving the computational power.

Semantic Pragmatic Communication disorder
Five to Seven, 2002SEMANTIC Pragmatic Disorder (SPD) was a label coined by psychologists Rapin and Allen in the 1980's to describe a puzzling group of children who were superficially articulate but had problems communicating with people. ‘Semantic’ relates to the word meaning, while ‘pragmatic’ refers to the use of language.
