Holistic Quantum Computational Semantics and Gestalt-Thinking

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006
Human perception like thinking seems to be essentially synthetic. We never perceive an object by scanning it point by point. We instead form right away a Gestalt, i.e. a global idea of it. Rational activity, as well, seems to be essentially based on gestaltic patterns.

Identifying semantic blocks in Web pages using Gestalt laws of grouping

World Wide Web, 2015
Semantic block identification is an approach to retrieve information from Web pages and applications. As Website design evolves, however, traditional methodologies cannot perform well any more. This paper proposes a new model to merge Web page content into semantic blocks by simulating human perception.

Modeling Product Form Preference Using Gestalt Principles, Semantic Space, and Kansei

Volume 7: 9th International Conference on Design Education; 24th International Conference on Design Theory and Methodology, 2012
Engineers describe design concepts using design variables. Users develop their visual judgment of products by mentally grouping design variables according to Gestalt principles, extracting meaning using semantic dimensions and attaching attributes to the products, as reflected in Kansei methodology.

Gestalt of a long-term archive management system on semantic grid

2013 International Conference on Computer Applications Technology (ICCAT), 2013
Long-term preservation (LTP) is an appealing new research area. Its goal is to make the sustainability of archives lasting for a foreseeable enough time. The efforts are primarily hampered by challenges such as missing of stands, formal methodology and workflow management during archiving process.

An evaluation of a person-centred gestalt group using the semantic differential

Counselling Psychology Quarterly, 1990
Abstract This study assessed the types of attitude changes that occurred among counselling students of a US university who were involved in a person-centred gestalt training group. A semantic differential was used to evaluate the effects of the group.

Joint crowd detection and semantic scene modeling using a Gestalt laws-based similarity

2016 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2016
This paper presents a novel approach to detecting crowd groups and learning semantic regions with a Gestalt laws-based similarity. Different from the existing approaches based on optical flows or complete trajectories, our model adopts tracklets as the original input, because they carry more detailed information. Though those tracklets do not appear in
