Using Semantic Web Technologies to Support Information Processing and Coalition Decision-Making

open access: yes
This paper outlines three techniques and tools which have recently arisen from Semantic Web research in the International Technology Alliance. The first of these techniques is POAF (Portable Ontology Aligned Fragments), which addresses issues relating to

Human‐in‐the‐Loop Object Segmentation for 3D Gaussian Splatting via Finger‐based VR Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a human‐in‐the‐loop segmentation framework for 3D Gaussian Splatting that integrates real‐time optimization with intuitive VR‐based finger prompting. Compared with existing automatic, learning‐based methods, it achieves significantly higher accuracy and reduced segmentation time.

Semantic Variational Bayes Based on a Semantic Information Theory for Solving Latent Variables

open access: yesJournal of Electronic & Information Systems
The minimum variational free energy criterion comprises two criteria: the maximum semantic information criterion and the maximum information efficiency criterion, but it does not provide a method for balancing them. The Semantic Information G Theory, the author proposed in his early years, extends the rate-distortion function R(D) to the rate-fidelity ...

Narrative as a Form of Knowledge Transfer, Narrative Theory and Semantic: Present Challenges - Future Possibilities (9 month Report)

open access: yes, 2005
An increase in digital multimedia data, has presented computer scientists with the key problem of large-scale information management. The Semantic Web vision proposes the publishing of information as semanticly accessible resources.

Lidar‐Based Object Tracking of Traffic Participants with Sensor Nodes in Existing Urban Infrastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper presents a lidar‐based sensor node design and a rule‐based state observer for edge‐based traffic participant tracking. Unlike other state‐of‐the‐art methods, this state observer enables real‐time, CPU‐only edge processing without relying on machine learning approaches.

VALIANT: A Vision‐Authenticity Language Framework Through Integrated Experts and Aligned Numerical‐Textual Descriptors for Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Visual features, numerical descriptors, and controlled textual attributes extracted from smartphone images of Chenpi are integrated by VALIANT, a tailored multimodal framework for simultaneous storage‐age classification and authenticity verification. The workflow distinguishes genuine products from suspicious standard operating procedure mimics while ...

Evaluating lexical resources for a semantic tagger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Semantic lexical resources play an important part in both linguistic study and natural language engineering. In Lancaster, a large semantic lexical resource has been built over the past 14 years, which provides a knowledge base for the USAS semantic ...

MDSC: Unsupervised Multipath Decomposition and Synergistic Correction for Efficient Low‐Light Image Enhancement with Detail‐Aware Smoothing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work proposes MDSC, an unsupervised low‐light enhancement framework integrating three core innovations: detail‐aware smoothing, multipath decomposition, and synergistic correction. It suppresses noise, handles rapid illumination variations, and prevents reflectance‐contrast amplification inherent to Retinex separation.

Talk to Your Data: An Agentic Artificial Intelligence‐Driven Decision‐Support Framework for Prosumer Energy Optimization and Recommendations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An agentic AI‐driven decision‐support framework for prosumers is proposed, integrating PV generation, load profiling, and multihorizon optimization within a four‐agent architecture. The approach significantly reduces grid dependence, enhances self‐sufficiency and prevents system oversizing.

A Channel-Theoretic foundation for ontology coordination

open access: yes, 2004
We address the mathematical foundations of the ontology coordination problem and investigate to which extent the Barwise-Seligman theory of information flow may provide a faithful theoretical description of the problem.
