Adopting Semantic Technologies for Effective Corporate Transparency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A new transparency model with more and better corporate data is necessary to promote sustainable economic growth. Semantic transparency: challenges for distributional semantics

open access: yes, 2013
Using data from Reddy et al. (2011), we present a series of regression models of semantic transparency in compound nouns. The results indicate that the frequencies of the compound constituents, the semantic relation between the constituents, and ...

The Processing of Speech Formulas on Turkish: A Masked Priming Study

open access: yesDilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi, 2020
Studies have indicated that formulaic sequences are processed significantly faster than newly created phrases; however, the source of this processing advantage has not been sufficiently investigated in the literature. The Holistic Approach justifies this

Semantic Transparency in Free Stems: The Effect of Orthography-Semantics Consistency on Word Recognition [PDF]

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 2015
A largely overlooked side effect in most studies of morphological priming is a consistent main effect of semantic transparency across priming conditions. That is, participants are faster at recognizing stems from transparent sets (e.g., farm) in comparison to stems from opaque sets (e.g., fruit), regardless of the preceding primes.

The semantic interplay of semantic radicals and host phonograms in chinese transparent character processing. [PDF]

open access: yesCogn Process
In the realm of Chinese character processing, the semantic activation of semantic radicals and their host phonograms is an intriguing topic. Against the backdrop of previous research which hardly investigated the machinery causing the semantic activation event, the present study is specifically dedicated to addressing this gap.

Transparency and the future of semantic searching in academic libraries

open access: yesInformation Services and Use, 2022
“Semantic search” is a fairly broad term without a fixed goal amongst developers. Most agree that semantic searching should reach beyond simple keyword or text/string matching in order to provide more robust taxonomies and relevant information retrieval systems.
