Ebola RNA Persistence in Semen of Ebola Virus Disease Survivors — Final Report
BACKGROUND Ebola virus has been detected in the semen of men after their recovery from Ebola virus disease (EVD). We report the presence of Ebola virus RNA in semen in a cohort of survivors of EVD in Sierra Leone. METHODS We enrolled a convenience sample

The authors state that sperm apoptosis is a useful indicator of male infertility in the case of varicocele, while being unable to detect Fas and Fas-L on sperm cells. At the same time, they also claim that the presence of Fas is a debated issue. We demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that Fas is not present in human sperm and clarified that ...

Quality of Semen Stored in On-the-Farm Semen Tanks
We assessed the damage to frozen semen packaged in French straws stored for 2 yr in 60 on-the-farm semen tanks on 56 Washington dairy farms. Percentage of motile spermatozoa and percentage of spermatozoa with intact acrosomes were not affected significantly by position of the semen on the rack (top or bottom goblet).

Semen Quality in Relation to Semen Preservation
A goal of research in laboratory evaluation of semen has been ultimately to predict the fertility achievable with use of that semen. This would permit evaluation of the male and ejaculate. For artificial insemination, semen viability becomes a measure of man's interaction with that semen in an effort to preserve its functional life. Man's efficiency in

Birthweight and semen characteristics [PDF]
A correlation between birthweight and sperm counts in adult life was anticipated because impaired fetal growth could impair replication of Sertoli cells produced in fetal life. Furthermore, it was expected that males born with a high birthweight might have impaired sperm production as they are expected to have been exposed to higher levels of oestrogen

Drivers and food web effects of Gonyostomum semen blooms [PDF]
The flagellate Gonyostomum semen forms dense late-summer blooms in humic lakes and is a nuisance to swimmers because it forms a slimy coat on the skin, causing irritation in sensitive individuals. Increasing occurrence and bloom incidence of G. semen has

Symmetry-breaking phase-transitions in highly concentrated semen [PDF]
New experimental evidence of self-motion of a confined active suspension is presented. Depositing fresh semen sample in an annular shaped micro- fluidic chip leads to a spontaneous vortex state of the fluid at sufficiently large sperm concentration.
