Feasibility of High‐Density Surface Electromyography for the Detection of Neuromuscular Disorders in Children

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 5, Page 806-814, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Diagnosing neuromuscular disorders in children is challenging. Concentric needle electromyography (CNEMG) is the standard for electrophysiological assessments but has limitations in pediatric populations. High‐density surface electromyography (HDsEMG) provides a noninvasive technique with superior spatial resolution, enabling

Exploring knowledge, perception, and use of surface electromyography in physiotherapy post graduate trainees in Italy: a single center preliminary survey

open access: yesFrontiers in Rehabilitation Sciences
IntroductionSurface electromyography (sEMG) is a non-invasive technique that records muscle electrical activity using skin-surface electrodes, aiding physiotherapists in assessing and treating muscular and neuromuscular conditions. Despite its potential,

Respiratory and non‐respiratory airflow characteristics across ingestive and non‐ingestive swallowing tasks

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 5, Page 2696-2712, 1 May 2026.
Abstract Respiratory–swallowing coordination is critical for safe swallowing. Respiratory phase patterns, indicating the direction of respiration bracketing swallowing, appear minimally altered when oral airflow is measured alongside nasal airflow. Measures from an oronasal facemask also demonstrate broader features of swallowing non‐respiratory flow ...

Tin‐Oxo Nanocluster Extreme UV Photoresists Equipped with Chemical Features for Atmospheric Stability and High EUV Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 27, 2 April 2026.
Fluoroalkyl‐functionalized tin–oxo nanoclusters (N‐TOC6) enable robust pattern formation through ligand crosslinking under EUV exposure without thermal processing. Sn–F coordination mitigates the Lewis acidity of Sn centers, suppressing reactions with airborne molecules and improving post‐exposure pattern stability.

Systematic Benchmarking of a Noise‐Tolerant Conductive Hydrogel Electrode for Epidermal Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 20, 9 April 2026.
General schematic of the approach. Abstract Conventional Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrodes remain the clinical standard for electrophysiological monitoring but are hindered by poor skin conformity, mechanical rigidity, and signal degradation, particularly under motion or sweat.

Learning Bodily and Temporal Attention in Protective Movement Behavior Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
For people with chronic pain, the assessment of protective behavior during physical functioning is essential to understand their subjective pain-related experiences (e.g., fear and anxiety toward pain and injury) and how they deal with such experiences ...
