Research on rehabilitation assessment methods based on human gait and sEMG

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2016
Based on the study of human gait, the rehabilitation assessment indicators which can comprehensively reflect the motor function of lower limbs are summed up, including muscle force, range of motion, stride length and gait speed.

Heart rate variability and surface electromyography of trained cyclists at different cadences

open access: yesMotricidade, 2016
The heart rate variability (HRV) and surface electromyography (sEMG) are important tools in the evaluation of cardiac autonomic system and neuromuscular parameters, respectively.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Human knee abnormality detection from imbalanced sEMG data

open access: yesBiomedical Signal Processing and Control, 2021
The classification of imbalanced datasets, especially in medicine, is a major problem in data mining. Such a problem is evident in analyzing normal and abnormal subjects about knee from data collected during walking.

People with chronic low back pain display spatial alterations in high-density surface EMG-torque oscillations

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
We quantified the relationship between spatial oscillations in surface electromyographic (sEMG) activity and trunk-extension torque in individuals with and without chronic low back pain (CLBP), during two submaximal isometric lumbar extension tasks at 20%

AI‐Assisted Self‐Powered Wearable Dual‐Mode Sensor With TENG and Stretchable Optical Fiber for Neurological Disorder Diagnostics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This manuscript presents the WDMS platform, an AI‐assisted, self‐powered wearable dual‐mode sensor for tele‐neurology. It integrates a contact–separation TENG insole with stretchable polyurethane optical‐fiber strain sensors to synchronously track plantar pressure and lower‐limb muscle deformation.

Surface Electromyography Meets Biomechanics: Correct Interpretation of sEMG-Signals in Neuro-Rehabilitation Needs Biomechanical Input

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2020
Coordinated activation of muscles is the basis for human locomotion. Impaired muscular activation is related to poor movement performance and disability.

Influence of Course Type on Upper Body Muscle Activity in Elite Cross-Country and Downhill Mountain Bikers During Off Road Downhill Cycling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This study aimed to investigate upper body muscle activity using surface electromyography (sEMG) in elite cross-country (XCO) and downhill (DH) cyclists during off road descending and the influence of man-made (MM) and natural terrain (NT) descents on ...
