New Semi-Analytical Solutions for Multilayer Reservoirs

CIPC/SPE Gas Technology Symposium 2008 Joint Conference, 2008
Abstract This paper presents the development, validation, and application of new approximate (semi-analytical) solutions for the wellbore pressure and fractional flowrate responses of commingled layered reservoirs — without interlayer cross/low (crossflow is only permitted in the wellbore, not in the reservoir).

Cubic autocatalytic reaction–diffusion equations: semi–analytical solutions

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2002
Summary: The Gray-Scott model of cubic-autocatalysis with linear decay is coupled with diffusion and considered in a one-dimensional reactor (a reaction-diffusion cell). The boundaries of the reactor are permeable, so diffusion occurs from external reservoirs that contain fixed concentrations of the reactant and catalyst. The Galerkin method is used to

Solute transport with multiprocess nonequilibrium: a semi-analytical solution approach

Journal of Contaminant Hydrology, 2000
A semi-analytical solution for the simulation of one-dimensional subsurface solute transport incorporating multiple nonequilibrium processes is presented. The solution is based on the theory developed by Brusseau et al. (1992) [Brusseau, M.L., Jessup, R.E., Rao, P.S.C., 1992.

Semi analytical solution for the groundwater mound problem

Advances in Water Resources, 1988
Artifical recharge as a means of managing the water resources of a region has been increasingly applied during the last decade. It affects the level of the underlying groundwater as well as septic drain fields (filter fields, leach fields), which become more and more important 1.

SEMI-ANALYTIC SOLUTION OF SKEW BOX GIRDER BRIDGES.

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, 1975
A semi-analytic procedure is presented for the analysis of simply supported skew box girder bridges. The structure is idealized as an assemblage of parallelogrammic strips. The degree of accuracy of the method is shown by numerical examples and the results are compared with finite element analysis and model tests.

A semi-analytical solution of Hunter–Saxton equation

Optik, 2016
Abstract In this paper, we discretize time derivative terms by a forward difference scheme and linearize the nonlinear terms using a quasilinearization technique to reduce the original equation into a system of ordinary differential equations. Then the Haar wavelet quasilinearization approach is applied to compute the numerical solutions of the ...

Semi-Analytic Time-Domain Solution to Reservoir Models

SPE Latin America and Caribbean Petroleum Engineering Conference, 2012
Abstract Analytic time-domain solutions are not possible even to some simple reservoir models, such as the finite radial model, which has a Laplace domain closed form solution. Several numerical inversion techniques of Laplace transform are available and find ready application for reservoir simulations.

Semi-analytical solution to arbitrarily shaped beam scattering

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2017
Abstract Based on the field expansions in terms of appropriate spherical vector wave functions and the method of moments scheme, an exact semi-analytical solution to the scattering of an arbitrarily shaped beam is given. For incidence of a Gaussian beam, zero-order Bessel beam and Hertzian electric dipole radiation, numerical results of the ...
