Economic-emission dispatch problem: A semi-definite programming approach

open access: yes, 2014
A semi-definite programming (SDP) formulation of the multi-objective economic-emission dispatch problem is presented. The fuel cost and emission functions are represented by high order polynomial functions and this was shown to be a more accurate ...

Seasonal Fluctuations of Plastochromanol‐8 and α‐Tocopherol Amounts in the Leaves of Cecropia Trees

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plastochromanol‐8 (PC‐8) is a homologue of γ‐tocotrienol with a longer side chain (eight instead of three isoprene units) and therefore also a representative of the tocochromanol (vitamin E) group. PC‐8 has been determined in various plants and seeds, with Cecropia sp. leaves showing unusually high levels.

Recent advances on support vector machines research

open access: yesTechnological and Economic Development of Economy, 2012
Support vector machines (SVMs), with their roots in Statistical Learning Theory (SLT) and optimization methods, have become powerful tools for problem solution in machine learning.

Adaptive Functioning, Sensory Processing, and Behavioral Problems in Autistic Children: The Moderating Role of Gender

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) frequently experience elevated emotional and behavioral difficulties, yet factors associated with variability remain incompletely understood. Adaptive functioning and sensory processing differences have been linked to behavioral problems, but little is known about whether associations differ between

Amortization does not enhance the max-Rains information of a quantum channel

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
Given an entanglement measure E , the entanglement of a quantum channel is defined as the largest amount of entanglement E that can be generated from the channel, if the sender and receiver are not allowed to share a quantum state before using the ...

Graph Neural Networks for Maximum Constraint Satisfaction

open access: yesFrontiers in Artificial Intelligence, 2021
Many combinatorial optimization problems can be phrased in the language of constraint satisfaction problems. We introduce a graph neural network architecture for solving such optimization problems.

Non-Line-of-Sight Node Localization Based on Semi-Definite Programming in Wireless Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2009
An unknown-position sensor can be localized if there are three or more anchors making time-of-arrival (TOA) measurements of a signal from it. However, the location errors can be very large due to the fact that some of the measurements are from non-line ...

Model‐Enabled Knowledge Transfer Across Cell Lines, Culture Scales and Conditions

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mechanistic models are central to quantitative understanding and optimization of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell culture processes, but their utility is often restricted by parameter sets calibrated for specific cell lines, scales, or operating conditions.

Drug‐Coated Balloon‐Based Strategy for De Novo Coronary Artery Disease Across Complex and High‐Risk Indicated Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Risk Categories: A Multicenter Registry Study

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Evidence regarding the risk‐stratified effectiveness of drug‐coated balloon (DCB)‐based PCI for de novo coronary artery disease (CAD) remains limited, particularly in patients undergoing complex and high‐risk indicated percutaneous coronary intervention (CHIP PCI).

Locking Ni Atoms in Ordered PtNi for Durable Hydrogen Production: From Electrocatalyst Design to Practical AEMWE Stack Validation

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
DFT‐guided atomic ordering of PtNi intermetallic catalysts enhances HER activity and durability by optimizing hydrogen adsorption and increasing dissolution potential. Experimental validation from half‐cell to practical AEMWE stack demonstrates outstanding performance with less than 2% degradation over 3,000 h.
