Maximum Margin Clustering for State Decomposition of Metastable Systems
When studying a metastable dynamical system, a prime concern is how to decompose the phase space into a set of metastable states. Unfortunately, the metastable state decomposition based on simulation or experimental data is still a challenge.

Analysis of the modified mass method for the dynamic Signorini problem with Coulomb friction [PDF]
International audienceThe aim of the present work is to analyze the modified mass method for the dynamic Signorini problem with Coulomb friction. We prove that the space semi-discrete problem is equivalent to an upper semi-continuous one-sided Lipschitz ...

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

A piezoelectric Euler-Bernoulli beam with dynamic boundary control: stability and dissipative FEM
We present a mathematical and numerical analysis on a control model for the time evolution of a multi-layered piezoelectric cantilever with tip mass and moment of inertia, as developed by Kugi and Thull [31].

A moving mesh method for one-dimensional hyperbolic conservation laws [PDF]
We develop an adaptive method for solving one-dimensional systems of hyperbolic conservation laws that employs a high resolution Godunov-type scheme for the physical equations, in conjunction with a moving mesh PDE governing the motion of the spatial ...

Objectives There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury.

New numerical solutions of fractional-order Korteweg-de Vries equation
We present new solutions of fractional-order Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation by employing a method that utilizes advantages of both techniques of fictititous time integration and group preserving.

High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

A Legendre–Galerkin spectral method for option pricing under regime switching models
The aim of this paper is to investigate an efficient spectral method for pricing European call options under regime-switching models. The main characteristic of this model is to incorporate the change in behavior of the underlying assets depending on ...

Numerical Approach to a Nonlocal Advection-Reaction-Diffusion Model of Cartilage Pattern Formation
We propose a numerical approach that combines a radial basis function (RBF) meshless approximation with a finite difference discretization to solve a nonlinear system of integro-differential equations.
