Modeling for Estimation of the Field Capacity Moisture of Different Soils in Semi-arid Area [PDF]
Modeling of water flow through vadose zone under unsaturated conditions necessitates the knowledge of soil hydraulic properties, which are water retention curve and water field capacity of soil.

FX Smile in the Heston Model [PDF]
The Heston model stands out from the class of stochastic volatility (SV) models mainly for two reasons. Firstly, the process for the volatility is non-negative and mean-reverting, which is what we observe in the markets. Secondly, there exists a fast and

Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Semi-empirical aging model development via accelerated aging test
Modelling of the degradation mechanisms has a crucial role during the aging analysis, which determines the accuracy of the lifetime estimation. Conventionally, analytical and semi-empirical models are utilized during the aging analysis. Analytical models employ deterministic equations during the degradation calculation and they can be scaled for ...

Semi-empirical models of H-mode discharges [PDF]
The H-mode transition can lead to a rapid increase in tokamak plasma confinement. A semiempirical transport model was derived from global OH and L-mode confinement scalings and then applied to simulation of H-mode discharges. The radial diffusivities in the model depend on local density and pressure gradients and satisfy an appropriate dimensional ...

A goodness-of-fit test for parametric and semi-parametric models in multiresponse regression
We propose an empirical likelihood test that is able to test the goodness of fit of a class of parametric and semi-parametric multiresponse regression models.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Semi-empirical model of MOST and passive devices focused on narrowband RF blocks [PDF]
This paper presents a semi-empirical modeling of MOST and passive elements to be used in narrowband radiofrequency blocks for nanometer technologies. This model is based on a small set of look-up tables (LUTs) obtained via electrical simulations.

Objective A patient‐centered approach for chronic disease management, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), aligns treatment with patients’ values and preferences, leading to improved outcomes. This paper summarizes how patient experiences, perspectives, and priorities informed the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2024 Lupus Nephritis (LN)
