A Modified Semi-Empirical Radar Scattering Model for Weathered Rock Surfaces

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Remote Sensing, 2020
This study presents a modified semi-empirical radar scattering model for weathered rough rock surfaces. Weathered rocks generally have dry surfaces except for a few hours after heavy rain due to their rapid drainage compared to bare soils.

Sentinel-MSI and Landsat-OLI Data Quality Characterization for High Temporal Frequency Monitoring of Soil Salinity Dynamic in an Arid Landscape

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
Although the Sentinel-MSI and Landsat-OLI are designed to be similar, they have different spectral, spatial and radiometric resolutions. In addition, relative spectral response profiles characterizing the filters responsivities of the both instruments ...

A semi-empirical dynamic soil acidification model for use in spatially explicit integrated assessment models for Europe

open access: yes, 2001
A semi-empirical soil acidification model was developed for use in integrated assessment models on a European scale. The model simulates the time development of base saturation and aluminium concentration using an empirical relationship with pH.

Semi-Empirical Inverse Model for DX Unit Performance in Residential Buildings

open access: yes, 2012
Inverse models are generally derived from empirical behavior and expressed in terms of one or more driving forces and a set of empirical parameters that are “identified” using measurements.

Semi-empirical model of surface finish on electrical discharge machining

open access: yes, 2010
[[abstract]]A semi-empirical model of surface finish on work for various materials has been established by employing dimensional analysis based upon pertinent process parameters in the electrical discharge machining process.

Semi-Parametric Hedonic Models, and Empirical Comparison [PDF]

open access: yes
Hedonic models have been widely used in the literature for valuation of non- market goods such as air quality. While the inclusion of air quality variables in hedonic models is common in applied work, there is not theoretical basis for defining the ...

SPICE compatible semi-empirical compact model for ferroelectric hysteresis

open access: yes, 2023
This paper reports a semi-empirical, SPICE compatible and computationally efficient compact model for ferroelectric capacitors (Fe-CAP) description. This compact model is inspired by the Jiles-Atherton model of ferromagnets, which features significantly ...
