Finite element analysis of bearing capacity and cracking failure in semi-flexible pavement materials

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Semi-flexible pavement (SFP) materials are known for their outstanding rutting resistance; however, their applications to new pavements are limited due to uncertainties in their structural bearing capacity and cracking behavior.

Experimental investigation of ecological semi-flexible pavement with silica sand as a partial substitution of cement [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Qadisiyah Journal for Engineering Science
The exploitation of locally available and abundant natural resources such as silica sand and its use as a supplementary cementitious material in the production of grout used in semi-flexible pavement (SFP) surfaces is of paramount importance in reducing ...

Generation of Self‐Organizing Macrovascular Constructs by Bioprinting Human iPSC‐Derived Mesodermal Progenitor Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vascularization remains a major obstacle in tissue engineering. Here, we introduce a bioprinting strategy to generate centimeter‐scale, self‐organizing “mother vessel” constructs from iPSC‐derived hiMPCs. By optimizing bioink composition, printing was accomplished in a single‐step approach. Within one week, hiMPCs differentiated into both CD31+

Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Dynamic modulus characteristics and prediction model of semi-flexible materials filled with high-performance cement paste

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials
The dynamic modulus of asphalt mixture is an important factor in the design of asphalt pavement, and many scholars have proposed different models for estimating the dynamic modulus of asphalt mixture, but there are almost no studies on the prediction of ...
