SemiMarkov: An R Package for Parametric Estimation in Multi-State Semi-Markov Models

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2015
Multi-state models provide a relevant tool for studying the observations of a continuous-time process at arbitrary times. Markov models are often considered even if semi-Markov are better adapted in various situations.

The Matter of Decision-Making Control Over Operation Processes of Marine Power Plant Systems with the Use of their Models in the form of Semi-Markov Decision-Making Processes

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research, 2021
The article presents the possibility to control the real operation process of an arbitrary device installed in the marine power plant based on the four-state semi-Markov process, being the model of the process, which describes the transition process of ...

Mimicking Attack Detection at Hybrid Level [PDF]

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web, 2020
Botnets are becoming an easy way of creating multiple attacks. One of them was botnets simulate the behaviour that is very near to the legitimate users.

Labeled Morphological Segmentation with Semi-Markov Models [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Nineteenth Conference on Computational Natural Language Learning, 2015
We present labeled morphological segmentation, an alternative view of morphological processing that unifies several tasks. From an annotation standpoint, we additionally introduce a new hierarchy of morphotactic tagsets. Finally, we develop \modelname, a discriminative morphological segmentation system that, contrary to previous work, explicitly models

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Learning Moisture‐Induced Damage From Vision: Diffusion Models for Real‐Time Monitoring of Additive Manufacturing Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce a vision‐based real‐time monitoring system for additive manufacturing that detects subtle moisture‐induced degradation via a diffusion model‐based framework. The approach enables nondestructive assessment of moisture‐induced damage level and mechanical performance and establishes a practical route toward more intelligent, reliable, and ...

AI‐Assisted Digital Single‐Molecule Activity Tracker for Decoupling Intrinsic Heterogeneity from Photo‐Oxidative Damage in High‐Photon‐Flux Enzymology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Employing a digital single‐molecule activity tracker (dSMAT), this research demonstrates that high‐photon‐flux irradiation drives progressive oxidative scarring in polymerases. Unlike simple thermal denaturation, real‐time kinetic tracking dynamically visualizes enzymes degrading into multiple impaired subpopulations.

Heavy tailed hidden semi-markov models [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Statistics. Stochastic Models, 1998
Summary: Hidden semi-Markov models have been proposed by \textit{K. S. Meier-Hellstern}, \textit{P. E. Wirth}, \textit{Y. L. Yan} and \textit{D. A. Hoeflin} [in: Teletraffic and datatraffic in a period of change (A. Jensen and V. B. Iversen (eds.)), 167-192 (1991)] to model the times between transmission of packets at a source.

Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis and Chemoresistance Prediction Model Based on cfRNA Molecular Signature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A deep learning model analyzes cfRNA profiles extracted from the blood of OVCA patients. This innovative approach distinguishes OVCA from healthy controls with high accuracy. Crucially, it reliably predicts patient response to chemotherapy (sensitive versus resistant subgroups).

Recursive Approach for Evaluation of Time Intervals between Transactions in Polling Procedure

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
An ergodic semi-Markov process with the structure represented by the full graph with loops, which simulates a digital control algorithm that generated transactions onto an object, is investigated.
