Multimethod survival analysis for identifying predictors and forecasting mortality in a heart patient cohort study

open access: yesCroatian Operational Research Review
This study presents a multi-method survival analysis of 125 cardiac patients from IIMCT-Pakistan Railway Hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Parametric accelerated failure-time modeling identified the Weibull distribution as optimal for describing time-to ...

Gallium Microalloying in Bi–Sn Solders: Interfacial Phase Formation, Wettability, and Long‐Term Shear Reliability Under Isothermal Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Gallium microalloying redirects interfacial reactions in low‐temperature Bi–Sn solders from Cu–Sn toward Cu–Ga intermetallic formation. The resulting Cu–Ga layer suppresses intermetallic growth during thermal aging, alters fracture pathways, and improves interfacial stability.

Robust drought trend assessment using multi-index and dual-distribution frameworks in semi-arid climates [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Research in Water and Wastewater
This study explores agricultural drought variability by applying both classical and rank-based statistical methods within two distinct probabilistic frameworks, aiming to assess how distribution choice affects the interpretation of drought patterns ...

Testing the Equality of Two Parametric Quantile Regression Curves : The Application for Comparing Two Data Sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This study aims to  compare the different between two data sets that having the relationship between the dependent and independent variables at each quantile using  testing the equality of  two parametric quantile regression functions, the conditional ...

Effect of Cu and CuP Additions on the Microstructure and Nanoindentation‐Based Fracture Behavior of CoNiAlSi Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cu and combined Cu–P microalloying refine the microstructure and enhance the nanoindentation‐derived fracture resistance of CoNiAlSi ferromagnetic shape memory alloys without suppressing the martensitic transformation. Comparative SEM, DSC, and nanoindentation results reveal that the CuP‐containing alloy provides the most balanced response, achieving ...

3D‐Printed Titanium Gyroid Scaffold Structure Integrated With Tough Hybrid Materials for Cartilage Replacement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a potential device design for joint cartilage replacement. Silica‐polytetrahydrofuran (SiO2‐PolyTHF) hybrids with customizable mechanical properties were developed to mimic the characteristics of a natural meniscus. These were synthesized through a two‐pot sol–gel hybrid process.

A Semi-parametric Regression Model to Estimate Variability of NO2

open access: yesEnvironment and Pollution, 2012
The purpose of this analysis was to derive a land-use regression (LUR) model using a semi-parametric method (based on penalized splines) to estimate the geographical characteristics that influence ambient concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Local Likelihood Estimation of Truncated Regression and Its Partial Derivatives: Theory and Application [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we propose a very flexible estimator in the context of truncated regression that does not require parametric assumptions. To do this, we adapt the theory of local maximum likelihood estimation.
