One‐Dimensional Materials Supported in Two‐Dimensional Van der Waals Metal–Organic Frameworks with Optical Anisotropy Switching via Twist‐Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

The analysis of influence of integrated circuits rigid pin leads connection type on their resistance [PDF]

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2009
The model of a rigid pin lead between contact platforms of substrate GIC and a hinged crystal is considered. The technique of definition of electric resistance of a lead is offered and by this technique is defined the resistance of a rigid pin lead for ...

Design of non-linear semi-rigid steel frames with semi-rigid column bases

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Structural Engineering, 2004
This article presents an analysis and design method for steel frames with semi-rigid connections and semirigid column bases. The analysis takes into account both the non-linear behaviour of beam-to-column connections and P-Δ effects of beam-column ...

Equilibrium and stability of beams with elastoplastic semi-rigid joints [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Civil Engineering
The classical theory of beams admits two types of connections between structural elements: perfectly rigid and perfectly flexible. However, the engineering reality calls for a more general approach to joint modelling.

Semi-rigid operation of connection in timber engineering

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Consideration the semi-rigid behaviour of connections is an essential part of the modern way of the design of timber load-bearing structures. The computational models using the finite element method allow us to easily replace the use hinge operation with the appropriate stiffnesses of connections in the design.

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Stability of Non-Sway Steel Frames with Semi-Rigid Connections [PDF]

open access: yesCivil-Comp Proceedings, 2013
Conventional analysis of steel frames assumes either perfectly rigid or pinned connections. he rigidity of most connections behaves, in fact, soinewhat between these two extremes. Therefore incorporating the effect of connection flexibility into the analysis and design procedure of the frame becomes necessary.
